Shift linkage assbly Kubota L35

My gear shift lever has been a little tight for a week or so. Yesterday it suddenly loosened up & now the Tractor won't move. I'm hoping this is a broken cable or pin in the shifting assbly? The shift lever actuates 2 cables which go down to a small housing bolted to the side of the trans. I assume they turn a shaft but I'm not going to tear into it w/out knowing what I'm dealing with. There is poor access due to the subframe. Has anyone dealt with this? Do you have to remove the subframe? If you had a dealer fix it what was approx. cost? Thanks to all who reply.

The L35 uses the GST (glide shift transmission) which is controlled by a rotary valve - that is what the cables rotate when you move the handle. The GST valve (side cover of transmission housing) is a fairly complex part and not for the unitiated to mess with.

What you can do is pull off the lower cover to see if the disc moves when you move the handle. Itf it doesn't move, then all you need is the cable assembly.

If not, likely what happened is the snap ring groove on clutch cup has broken (on the GST pack) and the tractor needs to be split to be fixed.

Thanks for the reply. You confirmed my inclination not to mess with this myself. I took the tractor into the dealer on Sat. & am waiting for the damage. I have split Ag tractors in the past but nothing with this type of transmission. I'm sure dealer's rates double when they have to clean up somebody's repair mess! Thanks again for taking the time to reply.
