I found this beautiful 1759 with 450 hours.
Hauled her home in the middle of the cold snap that we had the last few days.
Sure enough, the summer fuel didn't cut it.
I've replaced the filters and pumped out as much fuel as I could get. But gelled up again.
Then I attacked it with heat.

Now she's finally running and doing the job that we got it for.

I wanted to add pictures but can't find any to attach. Seems like the app can't find the gallery.

Nice, nice, VERY nice. As usual I recommend mixing your #2 diesel fuel 50/50 with #1 kerosene. Additives work to some extent and fuel SHOULD be treated in your area... however you probably had "summer fuel" in it and it takes awhile to get fresh fuel all the way through. Being in your area I assume you get below zero F often during most winters -- well below the 10 or 12 degrees F temp where the fuel will gel. Every heavy equip person I ever talked to in cold climates mixes their fuel #2 with #1 as a habit & standard practice. Good luck and give us updates as you gain experience with new machine.

There was summer fuel in there.

I bought some fresh fuel. She's running fine now.
Thursday morning, we had -38C. Without wind chill.
I know the windchill doesn't affect machinery. But people very easily tend to post wind chill values.

Yes, the news media quoting wind chill numbers as if they are temperatures is one of the ugly diseases of our time (in my disgruntled opinion.) Any fool knows it feels colder with wind, we do not need such numbers , and about 1/3 of the population goes around quoting them as if they are temperatures. TV weather people are desperate for limelight.
