Oil & Fuel Shell Rotella HD Universal Hydraulic Fluid any feedback?

My father always ran NH fluids in all of our Ford tractors. I've used up the last of what he had last year. Any feedback on Shell Rotella HD for the hydraulic systems on a 4630, 5610 etc? I noticed TSC had 5 gal. pails of it in stock for $59.99.

I know a lot of the folks on the forum use and swear by Rotella. The label on the bucket will tell you if it is the type that meets your tractors requirements.

These tractors don't use hydraulic fluid. They use a fluid that is both a gear lube and hydraulic fluid. It maybe called "Tractor Fluid", UTF, Hytran, etc but it is not per se hydraulic fluid. Your Fords will use something meeting M2C134D ( D is the latest letter, I believe, and most are backward compatible.) If theShell Rotella you describe meets these specs you are good to go with it.

Looks to be compatible, here's the specs, I've heard of Rotella, just never used it.

Just found a $10.00 rebate on 5 gallon pails through Shell when purchased at Farm and Fleet, TSC or Rural King.

I use Napa tractor fluid it was 45.00 a 5 gallon pain last fall...probably more now,it's not as important what brand you,use as it is that you use the right oil for your application.Shell oil is good,rotella isn't anything special because Chevron delo,Mobil delvac,Valvolines premium blue line,and many others make oil just as good. I prefer schaeffers oils,and amsoil for hydraulic systems that see extreme use or have high wear rates,such as steiners and ventrac hydro systems,for agricutlural tractors that run low loads,speeds,and temps I use Napa hydro oil

We recommend the Shell Spirax S4 TXM for the hydraulic systems on Ford 5610 and Ford 4630 tractors.

I have used that Shell oil and never a problem. Used on HST Kubota and gear drive tractors. No smells, burns or whatever...it worked fine and would have bought it if I had seen it for the last oil change. Shell makes great products.

Almost time to change transmission fluid in my XR4040C , factory rep says "Any good grade will do, TSC brand in mineral base will beok warren 303*" was wondering if the premium Shell HD would be worth the extra cost ? Any opinions welcome
