So what's the deal here? There are certain dealers that routinely solicite business, often saying "I can get that part for you" or "I sell such-an-such and I'd be happy to ship it to you". I've even read threads that appeared that dealers were competing with each other in the thread.

In contrast, most of the vendor reps that I read seem to provide good information about their products, but they don't push

Are there certain approved people that are allowed to do this and if so, who are they? Or, is this just normal and I should get over it?

I know in the past there was a famous (or rather infamous) case where a dealer created another account and was saying things specifically to promote their dealership. However, they weren't very careful about it, and were quickly called out.

Maybe they have permission?

Yes, there are. As you quoted, the key phrase if "without the permission of Tractorbynet.com". They gain that permission by paying to advertise on this site, and this is what keeps it free for the rest of us, so we appreciate them very much.

yep, I figured that was the case. But is there a list of advertisers somewhere?

Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate advertsing funded sites and content. I just have a gripe when the content itself becomes filled with advertising.

You can find a list of Dealers on the tab under the TractorByNet heading.

Besides Tractorbynet, how many businesses have you asked for a list of their customers?:D And how many gave you such a list?:D And why would you want a list of someone else's customers?

Quite frankly, IMHO, the dealers and related merchants that contribute to this site give some of the best and respected opinions I read here.

I welcome their input and wish there was more.

Think television & newspaper here, but they usually ask their viewers/readers to support the 'sponsor's' and those parties are clearly listed somewhere. The dealer listing on TBN is already pretty easy to get to, but that doesn't tell me who's advertising and who's not.

I agree, John.
And I also agree with the both of you. The dealers and vendors do provide valuable input.

OK, when you started this thread, it appeared to me to be a complaint about the dealers.;) So I wondered why you wanted a list.

There are a couple of dealers that support some imports however they display a good deal of ethics.
-For instance they never quote prices
-They very often provide valuable data
-Always say 'private email me for price'
-And never knock competition.
-And basically are the only source for certain model imports.
And for the owners in question, this site is probably the only method of finding that support!
