I am looking for a service manual for my Ford 3930. I find IT service manuals all over the place but, no real information on what is in it. Are they worth the money?

Try your local New Holland Dealer, Meesicks New Holland on line, or look on ebay. Factory manuals, in my experience, are much better than IT manuals. They usually have system descriptions that help you understand how the individual systems are supposed to operate and offer more info than the normal IT manual.

I&T manuals have a lot to be desired. Hard to beat an OEM shop manual. Checked New Holland, all they seem to have is a "training" manual. There are some reprints on ebay, didn't look through all of them but this is just one printed one. Tough to beat a hard copy when working in the shop. If you need parts, you can look them up online through New Holland. You can also copy and paste the OEM part number and search Google for aftermarket parts if you want.

I&T manuals are ok for the money. You get the basic info that you need to do the job but nothing extra. I find them to be more useful if your already a heavy duty technician and you mostly know what isn't printed in the I&T manual.

If you want step by step accurate instructions, factory manuals are the best. Sometimes you can get lucky doing an online search for, in your case it would be "Ford 3930 service manual pdf." I agree that a paper copy is the nicest but you pay for it.

My experience has been that paper Ford manuals are more expensive than some other manufacturers manuals and that a Ford service manual pdf is hard to find.
