L6060
I have a 3rd generation L5240 with LA854 loader, QA bucket (replaceable cutting edge). 1 set of rear remotes and rear hydraulic loop. 575 hours always stored inside. Overall excellent condition.

I'm considering trading for a new L5460 with cab. My question is what is my tractor worth, private sale vs trade. In my state we have a pretty onerous sales tax so you need to get at least 5% more for a private sale than trade as you get tax credit for your trade in value.

I know that there are regional differences but what is this tractor worth?

Thanks!

It should be easy enough to get 5% over trade in value... The tax relief strategy is in a dealer's interest keeping trade-ins coming..it is not in your best interest, to say the least.

I have looked there and found a trend of tractors with 5x the hours listed in the $25,000 range. Will they ever sell? Hard to say but if they do mine should be worth a bit more than $25,000.
I hope to get it listed this week, we'll see what happens.

Unfortunately it is easier for the dealers to sell these tractors because they can help with financing. Maybe your low hours add a couple thousand bucks to the value of your machine. But I think you're still in that 25K range, plus or minus.

Dealer's make money on the trade in...
and on the new tractor..

the 'ease' of transaction makes it hard to avoid, but someone looking for same machine will see the value.

Folks who put value on 'zero interest loans that aren't really zero interest' are not who you are selling to..you are selling to folks who value thei r cash.

How a buyer can pay will likely be your problem.
Not a lot of folks are sitting on $25K cash.
