Selling skid steer to buy another. What kind?

HI all. I bought an older scat track 1350 about a year ago to do some clearing and grading on some land i bought that i plan to build on in the future. It has done really well as far as the clearing goes, but the bucket on it is shot and wont dig at all. In addition, i cant find a manual, parts, ect... I cant find another bucket to fit it, and to get an adapter and bucket ect.. its going to be pretty costly. I figure i might as well sell it for a small loss, and buy a new machine. Any recomendations on brand, size, ect..? I am going to have to do quite a bit of digging as i have some grade issues. I want to spend 8k or less (5k would be great), with parts, ect.. readily available for the machine. Thanks all !!

In addition, where would be a good place to look for used skidsteers. I have been watching ebay, but seems to go high there, with tons of hours.

I see you have it on ebay. IMHO, it is risky to buy older, used skid steers without seeing them in person. In my area a good 10 yr old skid steer really hold their value. Your best bet maybe a local auction or newspaper. I have still seen rough ones the size of yours go at 6-8k. I do believe bargains can be found. Under 5K and they usually have some major issues.

Give Deere a look, whatever you do drive several before making up your mind. A good place for used skids is Construction Equipment at Machinery Trader: Caterpillar, Komatsu, Case, John Deere, Volvo

If you are looking for decent used skid loaders- check out Jim's Eqipment in St Paris, OH. He advertises in the FREE Ohio Auto & RV Trader and usually has 20 or so in stock. I've heard he's VERY knowledgable in the +/- of different manufacturers, features you might be looking for and he LOVES talking about skid loaders.

Just a note, (I have a Scat Track too) you can get a complete manual on CD free from Volvo Equipment, just call them. Any skid steer bucket will work, they are standard
