I am the second owner of the B2400. I figured I would not get much for a trade-in compared to selling out-right. Ideally, it would be nice to hang onto it for little jobs. It's a good little runner. The cash toward a bigger unit would be helpful though.

I did something similar last year. I planned on selling my old tractor privately. Bought an L3200/HST/FEL/R4 and after we agreed on the cash deal, the salesman asked if another salesman who lived near me could stop in to see my 2002 B7500HST/FEL/R4 that would be up for sale. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse and counted the B7500 as a trade. Saved me $540 in taxes and the hassle of dealing with selling it.

It is handy to have another tractor around. I still have a Ford 1210/HST that I bought used about 20 years ago.
