I need to sell my Kubota BX2230. I also have RCK60B-22BX finish mower, GC60K-BX grass catcher, cover, grill guard, and spare blades. It has no problems other that the blinkers sometimes come on for no reason. Excellent condition with 42 hours. What should I reasonable expect to get for it? Thanks.

your location will become a factor in selling. As long as Kubota is offering 0% finance, it will be harder to find a buyer that has the cash and is willing to part with it when the dealers have such a good deal on a new one.

Junkman has a point. Let's say for arguement sake I can buy new for $10,000 with 0% financing. See your's with low hours and you want 9 but financing is 5%. I'll buy new all day long. Your price needs to be low enough for someone to make out better on your deal than buying new.

It has no problems other that the blinkers sometimes come on for no reason. Well this is a problem. It should be fixed because this menas you have a short somewhere causing this. Being a 2230 it's new enough that the warranty should still apply. Call your dealer and have it fixed.

If you can think of anymore information to share it could help someone come up with a good number for you.

Good luck.

I hate to say this, but I think that you are going to take a 20 - 25% hit to sell it. It has to be attractive enough to the buyer to buy used vs new and I think that the correct number is going to require at least a $1500 - $2000 difference for most people to buy used and not get the 0% financing. Even though the warranty is transferable, the time that you owned it is going to be deducted from the warranty's value in a buyers mind. Assuming that is 6 months, even that 6 months has a value deduction. You also have to consider that you have the bagger kit in the package. To some people this might not be necessary and have very little value to them, even though you paid a lot to purchase it. The cover, grill guard, and spare blades will not bring any additional monitory value to the package and you will be just throwing them in to sweeten the deal for the purchaser. You could probably sell them on e Bay for more than they will add to the value of the tractor.

as many have stated, you need to make the delta in price worth the money.

so if new, for example is $10K for all the items, make your price less but within reason. So I would not ask $9.3K. Will you have the warranty transfered? Paid off?

The financing might come into play. If someone has the cash then your might look nice. But if no cash, financing looks nice too.

in the end, it is only worth what someone will buy it for. I was going to sell my BX22. The price I would have to give would not make it worth my time, effort. The price to replace it is WAY to high. I paid $16 and I would have to sell it for around $12K since the price of new ones (BX23) is the same what I paid. So If I sold it for 12K I would have to get a loan or something for $4K to buy just what I had...So the moral is think REAL hard before you sell it.

I think taking a bit of a hit on your BX is a given. I just sold my BX with 218 hrs for about a 12.5% loss in the end. Not bad considering. I did use it alot but I also took very good care of it which also makes a difference.
I know when I go and look at something and it looks bad... like the person didn't take the time to clean it to sell it. It makes me wonder if they cared enough to keep it maintained ( but I am picky like that ).
Maybe I was just lucky and found the right buyer but he also wasn't the only person who called. I had two others that claimed they wanted it if the first buyer didn't show.
I think you should be willing to take at least a 20% hit if you need to sell it. If you have the time to wait I think the right buyer will come along. The nice thing about Kubota also is that the name sells itself for the most part.
Good luck with your sale /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

P.S. The blinker problem is usually caused by a faulty switch on the dash. They are not sealed to well and get water and dirt in them pretty easy. Should be covered by warranty.
