Working on rebuilding my SOS. With The tractor still split in the back and the engine at idle in neutral I have power applied to the drive shaft and spinning at 265 Rmp. R1 goes in a very slow crawl in reverse. R2 puts alot of pull on the engine but does go into R2, lugs the engine so I didnt get a rpm reading. 1st gear 70 rpm, 2nd 95 rpm, 3rd 105 rpm, 4th 148 rpm, 5th 270 rpm, 6th 345 rmp, 7th 380 rpm, 8th 500 rpm, 9th goes to neutral, and 10 had a knock so I didnt stay there long enough to get an rpm. Also the inching pedal only has a small impact on RPM when depressed.
The engine sounds like it has the least load in 5th gear, or at least idles the quietest. Both reverses a problem, no 9th gear and power applied when in neutral. This combination is definitely not in the IT manuals. I suspect a stuck shuttle valve in the control valve or warped plated in one of the clutch packs. I have disassembled the control valve and all looks OK.
Anyone seen anything similiar???
