Just learned something today... Sediment bowls are meant to mount 1 way and 1 way only. (At least on these old Fords)
Evidently someone put the smaller Ford Sediment bowl on my 860 before I owned it. I've frequently fought with issues of keeping it running. Well, today I found out why.
The picture below shows the hole in the retaining bolt aligned with the channel that allows fuel passage.

The picture below shows how the hole is not aligned when mounted the opposite way (as it was on my 860 for about 10+ years now). It'd work just enough, but would frequently die off. I've put in coils, electronic ignition, tune-up kits, shut-off valve and fuel line, then still run into stalling. Can't believe it.
