Second chance for an old Ford/ Shibaura n873

I posted here about replacing the engine in this ford tractor 1510 identified by one of the members here by numbers off the block I think.
The plan was poor and never moved forward, however I have been offered help by a mechanic for a few weeks. If I can find the parts that are missing or not reusable.
The head is going to be checked for cracks by the end of next week and I have a line on replacing the last of the valve stem caps which were lost.
There may be other items along the way but the first main sticking point has been the head gasket, the head says n873 but I have not been able to find any gasket for sale that matches. The closest is n843 and it does look similar but I cant find out if it is useable.

The number on the head may be a casting number not a part number. Have you tried the parts lookup on the new holland website?

The number on the head is a casting number after all. I was not able to find the part on the newholland website, but was able to find one on line in Canada I believe, so I will ask what shipping will be.

I finally found the head gasket available online, big relief as the boss is willing to put some money toward this old machine to see if it can be put back to work.
Can anyone direct me to a workshop manual for torque specs and rebuild information?

Finally got the Head Gasket, so time to finnish Lapping the valves and seats.

The valves and valve seats were not in bad condition so it did not take too long.
Into the parts washer to get rid of the last of the fine lapping compound.
Almost ready for assembly

I've had to replace the water pump pulley with one from a 1984 Toyota landcruiser as the original seems to uave walked off. Its very slow progress, but it is progress.

Bit low today, I finally got the engine re assembled, radiator fitted and decided it was time to spin it up and see if I had oil pressure.
There must be a crack in the cylinder liner some where as when I filled the radiator it flooded the engine. Boy did I miss something major. Dont feel like starting again with this engine.
