Went to move my 55 from the garage to get a truck out and found it would shut off when you put it in gear. Checked all the linkages, peeded at the repair manual, totally confused.
Called the service department and they related it is the seat switch as they have had a ton of them fail. We stock quite a few he explained. So... I placed a jumper in the feed and low and behold everything works. Haven't gotten back to the parts dept. to get one but I bet they are not cheap.
If they are having trouble with them ( probably made in X land, low bidder ) one would think they would replace the junk with a working model as a recall item. My machine has 163 hours and is out of the two year warranty. I hope this company didn't have a hand in any of the other electronics.
I read an article where Harley Davidson had japanese electronics for years switch to chineese products. they had so much trouble they recalled them and returned to the former supplier.
Its a shame a few cents cheaper results in so much added misery down the road.
