I just picked up an early Kubota 7200HST-E that has seen a lot of sitting around.
Besides some issues with the fuel injectors, the biggest problem is the seat. As received, the seat was hanging off the tractor mounting by a single screw, with all the Kubota mounting rubbers and sleeves etc missing.
The tractor came with what appears to be an after market "universal" seat with a molded plastic base.
The base has many hole patterns pre drilled , but only four mounting locations have threaded inserts, and one of those spins freely in it's hole so is unusable.
What are some useful repair and alteration "fixes" to mount such a universal seat? (I doesn't seem universal at all unless the requirement happens to fit the four threaded inserts)
Tee nuts pulled into location by wires?
Expanding, threaded tubular "pop rivets"?? Is there something common for plastic seat bases?
I suppose I can make up a "sub frame" that fits both the tractor and the seat base, but that would just add weight and complexity. A google search of "tractor seat mount" returned one of a similar Kubota seat in the tipped up position. It appears that if one has the genuine article, everything just bolts up! What a novel idea!
Ideas from those who might have done such adaptation are most welcome.
