I have an old Sears steam cleaner model # 765.950 and can't find out any information about it.

The company I work for bought it well used in the 90's. They were going to throw it away a couple of weeks ago. I happened to be in the right pace at the right time so now it's mine.

I rewired the plug and it works pretty well but does need a little work.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think I've ever seen anything like that.

Well the first thing I would do is check that relief valve to make sure it is set right and will actually pop at the set pressure. You could have a pretty good bomb there if it overpressures.
Likely needs to have the coils cleaned as it looks pretty carboned up on the outside, I could only guess at what the inside looks like. It looks like a kerosene fired steam cleaner from the photos, so that is what I am assuming it is.
If you get it all to working, I would bet it does an excellent cleaning job.

Overall it is in good shape. What you see on the outside is just surface rust. The water goes into about a 5 gallon holding tank and is heated in a coil by the burner. The water/steam flows continuosly through the wand by a pump. It takes about 10-15 minutes for the steam to start flowing. You can see in the pic of the lawnmower deck that it does a good job of removing gunk that my pressure washer wouldn't touch. I used it this week to clean some nasty greasy filters for work. I got the cleaner free with the condition that I would clean the filters every few months ). They look brand new now.

The pressure relief valve seems to work fine. I need to fix a few other things to get it to tip top shape. The float valve for the holding tank doesn't close fully and water overflows out of the tank. It slows down the heating of the water a bit. The pump could also use new seals.

Thanks for the replies.

If anyone runs across any info please let me know.

I can't find anything

That is really neat. I am sure that would be really useful. I would love one of those for cleaning engines while restoring them.

Hey I just bought one of these almost identical was wondering if u could possibly help me. Urs seams very simple compared to mine. Everything fired up and ran ok but once we got to bout 80psi the hose feeding it. Melted holes in it and blew apart. Do I need a high temp hose to feed this? Hot water shouldn't be flowing back into where the water comes in right? Thanks

Hello I just got this from an older gentleman who said it use to work, I took the chance and plugged it up and yes the blower motor pump motor came on but I quickly stopped it and started working on the wiring I am in the middle of changing all the wires and switches but that’s where I stopped I can’t find any documentation on it and want to know if anybody else has any information about it? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks
