I posted this in own/oper but I think this is a better place.
JD 4210 wanting a 3 pt log splitter

I have a multipart part question. I think my tractor is an open center? Specks should be 7 gpm @2125 PSI -total is 12 gpm but front steering takes 5 I have the power beyond and scv connection which raises my mmm at the back.

If I tie into the mmm connection I will need to bungee cord the valve to make the fluid flow to the control of the log splitter?

If I use the power beyond will I be able to raise and lower with the 3 pt control? When I hook up my back hoe I loose the 3 pt, logic says I would loose it.

Confused and need help! Would also appreciate advice on brands of log splitters.

When I ordered my JD4300 I also wanted to operate a splitter off the tractor so the salesman sold me the 3rd SCV option. I soon found out that I had to tie back the control lever and only got a slow splitter. Then I bought a used backhoe and the dealer installed Power Beyond. When the hoe is installed the 3pth is out of the circuit,(fluid dumps back into sump) BUT my splitter is plumbed so it goes in series with the Power Beyond and keeps the 3pth working.
Once I replaced the 4" cylinder on the homemade splitter with a 3" unit my speed picked right up while still having plenty of power....

The PB connection you refer to is usually between the AUX valves (SCVs in JD lingo)
and the 3-pt cylinder. Since hoe valves don't have PB out, that means the 3-pt
may go up and down, but you had better not exceed 500psi, or you may blow out
your hoe valve. That's not a risk with a hoe, since the 3-pt is blocked off by
the hoe itself.

If you put another valve between the AUX and the 3-pt, and hope to use the 3-pt,
you had better choose a valve with PB Out. I have not seen a splitter valve with
PB Out, but they may exist.

Both of my splitters (homemade units) came to me with open center valves, just like the JD SCV's or the valves on my JD hoe. By disconnecting the Power Beyond hose at the quick connect and plugging in the splitters in series they work fine and the fluid then returns to the sump THRU the 3pth valve (also open center) instead of dumping straight in like it does when the hoe is connected.
