Unfortunately, our "Right to Bear Arms" is was recognized by only 56% of the Supreme Court. Also, you should be buying some ammunition to stockpile. Nothing in the Constitution about the right to buy ammunition.

Wow, the supreme court got something right for a change. What I would like to know is, what on earth were the 4 dissenters thinking? It's really not a complicated issue. Look the original document, then look at the writings of the founding fathers if there is any doubt to it's meaning. I wish that judges would start leaving their personal and political beliefs out of their rulings.

Me too! Without getting "politikal", everyone should realize how important this upcoming presidential election will be. I'll leave it at that.

As an Australian, I'm perfectly happy that I don't have a right to bear arms. Or, to put it more accurately, I'm happy that the fruitcake next door doesn't have a right to bear arms. Handguns are illegal over here. (With a few exceptions). I'm happy that my kids can go out at night without worrying that some angry young drunk is going to pull a gun out of his pocket. After the 'Port Arthur Massacre' the Government bought back all the self-loading rifles. Fortunately the population was still small enough to do it. Manual loading rifles are allowed - most farmers have 2 or 3 so there's no great disadvantage there. Sure we still have a criminal element who will get hold of handguns but its a pretty small problem. Seems that they use them on each other more than anything else.

I may be off base, gut I think the answer is if you use a gun, handgun or long gun, in the commission of a crime you go to jail for life.

I have firearms and like them, all 78 of them. I do not have a Porshe or no anything about them, they are useless to me. I vote we ban Porshe's. This is the argument. Those who don't own or understand firearms do not have the right to tell me I can't own them any more than I have the right to tell them they do not have the freedom to buy a Porsche. For those of you who are not NRA members I strongly recomend joining, this fight is not over. All of the anti gunners fail to realize if someone does not have a firearm they are still not safe from physical harm. As I sit at my desk surrounded by pens, pencils, letter openers, scissors and a 3' piece of rebar I'm pretty sure harm could be inflicted by all mentioned. People are the problem not the guns. Our punishments never fit the crime so some people are not detered to behave and the honest suffer. I have a round of sporting clays scheduled for this afternoon and my Beretta DT10 and I will have a good time.
