I have been gifted with an 24v electric articulating Scissors lift, Condor Chick model 2532. Currently non operational. I'm wondering if anyone out there would have a operator's manual or repair manual for it.

I've just started looking into what will need repairing to get it working so I can use it in my 17 ft tall metal shop building. I know the 24V electrical system, hydraulic pump and hydraulic cylinders will all need careful inspection and operational verification before i commit my body to the lift.

Any comments or experience regarding this lift is appreciated.

We were a Condor ManLift Dealer (I believe Condor still makes Truck Mount Lifts). After Condor discontinued Production, an old Case Employee bought out the remaining Parts Inventory. We still have a few out, and have been troublesome-sorry.

The new Owner is pretty abrasive and not very helpful-good luck-

Thanks for the reply and good wishes! I've PM'd you with additional details and info. I appreciate confirmation that Condor sold out... I had inferred as much from net searches.

Just a qick update... I've got the lift working now.

I got free used working 6V batteries from a local country club.

Everything worked, except that it would go up but not down...

I got a manual, about $90, but it was too simplistic in its diagrams, both hydraulic and electrical to be a big help. Even 2 buddies who read schematics simply took to tracing out what was actually installed on the lift. Also, my serial number is earlier than those covered by the manual, so that was another problem.

We determined that all electrical switches and hydraulic spools worked if you jumpered them "correctly".

We couldn't figure out why power was not getting to the solenoids to lower the lift arms..... so removed the non functional wireing and installed our own... now it goes up and down properly when operated from the platform.

Only curiosity is that when operated from the ground either cylinder will lift, but there seems to be no way to lower it from the ground... one must climb into the platform and lower it from there.... an inconvience that I can live with.

I just Bought one. It does not seem to have much power to climb even the slightest of grades. 8% seems to be the max before it just wont move. does ok on level ground. Is this normal? Did you ever find detailed manuals?

This is an old thread!

It is made for a plant floor dead flat = no grade.
It should have some sort of tilt switch so that you cant raise it if it of camber too!

BTY the plant that had one we affectionately called it the the "Yellow Bird" I put miles of conduit up in it.

I agree with Tom....these units were designed for level concrete.....because of the low gpm output of pumps, the wheel motors were not as efficient at low rpm's.......I use an inline flow meter to troubleshoot....during a stall condition oil should not be flowing through the wheel motor or out the case drain (if so equiped)....if oil is flowing through then the geroler sets are worn...

if the oil is not flowing through the wheel motors in a stall condition then you have problem with control valve(s) and/or pump......

I've seen new units with this trouble and the only reason they needed to climb was to drive them onto a trailer for transport.......
