Another oil question I'm afraid.

Does anyone know if I can use Rotella T in my sc2400?

The owners manual says grade CF or higher, and the Tech manual says grade CD or higher. I have no idea what makes one grade higher than another. It seems the grading has more to do with the application.

Keep in mind the sc2400 is indirect injection, if it matters.

My dealer is clueless.

I went to the dealer I bought my sc2450 from to get the filters and fluids for the 50 hour service and gave me Kubota (brand) 10W30 oil. He said that thay have been using it since CCY came out with the new line of tractors.
I do not know who makes Kubota brand oil, maybe someone else will know.

Curious, what was the API rating on the Kubota oil?

The API rating of Kubota SAE 10W-30 oil is:
CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4, CF, CE, CD, CC/SL, SJ

These were written on the front and back of the container.

Where did you find Rotella T 10W30?
I have looked and all I can find is 15W40 Rotella T.

I purchased it at NAPA.
But I could swear I've seen 10w30 at Wal-Mart and TSC.

I use rotella t6 synthetic oil in all of my stuff diesel and gas have for years
used to work as a fleet mechanic when we started using this oil on all of out equipment
had an 84 ford 6.9 changed filters at 9000 and sent in oil samples as if it was a fleet vehicle, they kept saying put on another 12000 miles and recheck I finally changed the oil at 180,000 figured it might be worth the cost for piece of mind
and it is still priced at 16.50 a gallon at wally world
