Today I traded in my 2305 for a slightly used X485 and a new JD Trail Buck 650 ATV.

After 26 hours in the saddle, it occured to me that the 2305 would not move the kind of earth I wanted it to, and that I'd need to rent some heavier equipment, or upgrade to a very expensive tractor payment. With my property, the garden tractor and ATV will be a better fit for the everyday stuff, and that I'd rent or contract when needed. At least that's my story and I'm sticking with it.

I was able to strike an excellent deal to minimize my hit on the 2305. That leaves me with several 3pt hitch goodies that I'm looking to get rid of. A 4 month old King Kutter RB-72-y 6ft rear blade, a TSC Quick Hitch with 3 sets of bushings, a Befco spreader and a drawbar. If you're near south-eastern Wisconsin and you're interested, send me a private message. I could be interested in trades for, you guessed it, ATV attachements. Also, any woodturning or sharpening equipment.

This has been a really cool forum, and I'll hope to lurk around on the Lawn and Garden posts - every once and while I'll come here to see how the 'big toys' are doin.

cya,
johnny. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Hi,
Sorry to hear of your 2305 passing on but glad to hear of the new 485. I looked at the 400 and 500 series and decided to go with the 2305 for my 2 acres. Anyway, is there any possibility of shipping the spreader to zip 19438 and what price are you at? Thanks in advance!!

The X is a nice machine! I'm with you, instead of getting a bigger machine with a bigger payment, I'll just rent heavier equipment when I occaisionally need it. Cheers!

JT, sorry about your loss, but you get 2 new toys in place of it. I am interested in a few attachments, my cell# 608-574-4907. If you get a chance give me a call. Thanks Fitz /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Once last hurrah. When the truck came with my X485 and Trail Buck 650 CVT, I was in the middle of trying to use the loader to move a new band saw that had arrived. At 500lbs, it wasn't cooperating.

The driver of the delivery truck helped me out. He sat in the bucket holding the saw (which was verticle!) all the way up the 400ft drive to the garage. After that, the 2305 disapeared into a covered trailer, never to be seen again... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

JohnnyTractor,

Though we haven't known you for all that long, and though we do wish you well, there are many incongruieties in your tale. To buy a sub-CUT with a 54" deck, unless there are substative gate etc issues, is a total mistake. You did so, and then when you busted up a blade brush-hogging with this tiny lawn mowing deck, you wanted to know how best to straighten a blade. Several of us suggested RFM and brush hog alternatives, but that fell on dead ears. When we learn you traded the 2305 on an used X and a ATV, for me, at least, many flags went up. Now when you dish the 2305 at not being able to lift 500 lbs, you've gone too far. Horseraddish! Best luck in whatever dreamland you are living in; just don't blast those who may be thinking of real tractors towards a cyberspace that doesn't exist. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

May the force be with you . . .

JD - you should learn how to read better. First of all, I wasn't brush hogging anything - I was cutting 4 inches of grass. The field had already been cut once with the 2305 - no need for another machine. That's why I didn't reply to your first mis-guided post.

Secondly, trying to get a 6 ft long, 12 inch thick, 30 inch wide 500lb saw in to the 200CX bucket alone is impossibly difficult. That's what I was referring to. The bucket lifted not only the saw, but also the truck driver as well - I thought I made that clear, but apparently not good enough to keep you from ripping me.

Lastly, the 2305 wasn't a good fit because, as a scut, it doesn't move as much earth as, and I wrote this before, I needed it to. Lastly, you might also learn not flame people when you don't know what you're talking about. If you're position is to stack the 2305 up with a proper earth mover, forget it. I know this because I spent the $15K to find out.
