Not sure where to post this, just hoping it will save someone $. My wife & I pay quite a bit at the pharmacy each month, but a friend suggested an app "Good Rx".
You enter your meds, your zip code and it finds the lowest price. Example was mine was about $65. Good Rx found another pharmacy and it was $22. The pharmacist needs to see the app since there are coupon codes.
Worth checking into. Always good saving money, especially $500/year. Wife's is more.

Does this work along with insurance or in lieu of it?

We have insurance. I'm on Medicare, wife soon will be. I have Anthem supplemental, but not prescription meds since I don't take anything expensive.
Anyone who pays anything for medications should check out Good Rx. I was amazed. One pill wife takes was $120+/month...now it's $30+.

in lieu. So you find out what your drug will cost with your insurance. Then run through good rx. It will find the cash price at the local pharmacies. Often you can get it cheaper than what your co pay is.

I have a $3500 deductible plan. I had one med that Walgreens wanted $500/mo for. The pharmacy at the clinic where my Dr office is wanted $15.00 for the med..... same med.

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but thanks for sharing your experience. It's always nice to find ways to save money, especially when it comes to prescription drugs. It's impressive how much of a price difference you can see just by using the app. I'm sure this will be very helpful for many people who want to save money on their monthly pharmacy bills. I downloaded the levothyroxine coupon myself to get the discount and save money. I will check out this app, and thanks again for sharing this helpful tip!

Don't even need an aap. My doctor's office had GoodRx cards in the waiting room you could take. Do some research though...even with the card, prices do vary from one pharmacy to another and may reflect a different # of days supply. You might need to get your doctor to re-write your prescription to take full advantage.

I haven't used it in several years (my Medicare Advantage plan has zero copay for any medication I need), so things may have changed. Their website used to be searchable by drug & pharmacy.

I have prescription drug coverage for most of my medications thru my medical insurance. However, there is one that is very expensive and I've found that it is much cheaper to use the Good Rx card for that one. It's only about 10% of what my insurance company charges. So I make use of both my insurance and the Good Rx card, I can only use one or the other. Also see if your doctor will write a 90 day prescription, the cost for mine is only a couple dollars more for the extra 2 months.

Check out their website: Good Rx
