- Ford 3000, Satoh S650G Bison
Just listed my tractor on CL, search for Satoh on Denver Craig's List.
$3,000 cash FIRM.
Satoh S650G Bison tractor. 26hp.
104 original hours. I bought it with 84 original hours. Owned by an old man in Texas that had a stroke, the tractor was stored in a barn for 10 years, the barn caved in, the tractor was moved outside under an oak tree where it sat for another 10 years. While sitting outside, it developed some surface rust and lichen was actually growing on the hood and dash (see pictures). The worst damage it suffered during this period is water leaked down the gear shifter boot into the gear box. One of the kids hauled it up to their garage in Colorado where it sat for more years until they decided to sell it. I bought it in March of 2009. I refurbished it (see pictures) at my house in Denver, then moved it out to my property in Tennessee in July of 2011. I have only put 20 hours on it, mostly pulling a trailer around with firewood on it. Time for me to upgrade to a 50hp tractor with a loader and the Satoh to find a new home. It will need the following items;
New main bearing at the forward and possibly the rear bearing as well inside the gear box. I cleaned up the gears as best I could, but the main bearing will need to be replaced, it works and is drivable and useable, but it makes a whirring noise and will fail sooner or later. Plan on separating the tractor in half to get the job done, fairly easy to do if you're a good mechanic and have a shop or garage to do it in. Replacement bearings can be sourced here in Denver.
Other than that, it's a runner. 540 / 1000 dual speed PTO. New tires and tubes all the way around. Valspar Tractor and Implement paint (serious stuff), a little dusty from sitting in my shed. Comes with front wheel weights. Lots of new parts and gaskets. PTO and 3 point work as they should. New seat cushions and covers. Very good brakes. Rear work light installed, one head light works, one doesn't. This is a high quality made in Japan tractor, it has a Mazda 4 cylinder gas engine that was also used in Mazda cars in Australia called a Mazda Familia, and also in quite a few different fork lifts. I have extra gaskets, a few of the old parts, and a few new oil filters for it (Napa Gold).
Come take a look at it, take it for a spin.
$3000, price is very firm. I have about double that into it in addition to a whole lot of hours refurbishing it.
Search Satoh Bison on YouTube and you'll see 3 of my videos, my user name is mextripper.
I have a full photo documentary of the entire restoration process that I will give you with the tractor, as well as a parts and filter cross reference list. I also have contact information for the daughter of the original owner and can prove the 84 original hours at the time I purchased it from them is true and accurate. It now has 104 hours on it as of 7-20-2017.
