New member with a steering slip in my older Satoh S650.
Happens occasionally.
Thought the steering system column was pinned and/or splined?
Is it repairable and are the parts available?
Thanks!

Just redid my 650 and the column had keyways and square keys in top and bottom!--- its a bear to get in there too! thanks; sonny580

Has to be a broken or rounded keyway on the steering shaft. Can't imagine gears inside slipping.
Unless obivious loosness in the pitman arm.

Pitman arm is also a bevel shaft with a square key in it! thanks; sonny580

Sonny,
Find it hard to believe that keyway has failed.
Did you replace any parts ... bearings etc.? If so where did you get them. If I go in I would like to redo everything from the steering column to the spindles.
Thanks,
Joe
