i have a chance to buy this tractor with a woods finishing mower & a box blade attachment, the tractor needs a water pump & possibly a starter & a few minor wiring repairs, i can purchase all of this for one thousand dollars, i don't know much about tractors, is this a good deal ? any input would be greatly appreciated !

I am not a fan of grey market tractors. They're too big a risk unless one is ready to wait for parts and is good with a wrench.
That said, if you thoroughly investigate the availability of parts (don't take the seller's word for it...he wants to sell the tractor) and you are confident you can work on that machine...and wait for parts sometimes...well, make your decision.
If your livelihood depends on this tractor...you might want to look at something with a solid dealer network.

Somewhat Harder to get parts for. Some parts may have to come from japan. I have a yanmar. Yanmar's have better parts support than other grey's

If you come across a yanmar I would say go for it. Parts aren't a problem as with some other greys. There are plenty of parts for yanmar's & alot of independent tractor dealers & some JD. Dealers will also...work on them.Just make sure you have someone that can supply you with parts b-4 you buy a tractor. Even with name brand tractors, some parts will have to be ordered
i have run across another deal today on the same type tractor, only this one is four-wheel drive & every thing works, i can get this one for $800.00, i'm thinking of buying both so i will have spare parts. this latest deal comes with a 4 foot bushhog brand bush hog thats fairly new, a tiller & a box blade attachment. so ,basically i'm looking at spending $1800.00 for two tractors, a woods finishing mower, a 4 ft bushhog, two box blade attachments & a tiller attachment. i have checked around & both of these machine are the satoh mitsubishi u.s. machine's, i don't think their grey market machines, i could be wrong though. again, thanks for the advice !

For me, I would do it. A month or two wait for parts might mean skipping putting in the family garden this year, or some similar inconvenience that is really of no consequence.
But if I had to earn my living with the equipment I would pay far more and buy something with immediate parts availability.
