I've read many threads over the last months and find the advice given invaluable
Because of the change in the aussie and us dollars it has now become viable to import equipment to Australia from the states
EG harley rakes are $20k here
I have bought several smaller items from overseas but am still cautious of being "burnt" when buying from overseas
I am after an ASV100positrack with forestry kit and tree mulcher,8' harley style rake with hydraulic control. Flail mower, tree shears and a stump grinder for land clearing. I would also like a set of decent forks and a grab bucket and a 4in 1 with teeth. I've already got a trailer manufacturer in mind
I've got my finance approved and would like to fly over to see the equipment before purchase
It has to be new or immaculate as quarantine is over the top here
I am thinking of buying the containers to ship back and reusing them on site
I am looking for an agent dealer or good advice on who to use. I would like someone to "show me around for a few days " and I am happy to pay for this
I am not asking for any guarantees just a pointer in a direction to save me time. Canada north south east or west in the states it doesnt bother me wherevers the best deal

I brought a BX23 in with no problems but you need an import agent at this end to do all the paperwork.

For Quarantine the gear must be NEW, not even demonstrated or driven on dirt. ie NO dust, grass,or plant material on it.

Do not use any wood in the packing (Unless it is specifically treated first)
Make sure everything is well secured as it will move about during shipping.

It takes about 6 weeks to get here.

Apart from that there were no problems.

I take it you saved a few dollars
I was quoted 110k for the 100positrackasv with a forestry kit in Adelaide, on this site talk is under 60k
The mulcher was 40k and on we went
So I,m happy to go over with 120 that leaves me room for taxes imports etc
Who did you use over there, would you recommend them?
Have you used any of the bigebay sellers like skidsteersolutions for accessories?
Are there any pitfalls to watch out for- I worked for Quarantine and they even stung me on a BMW I imported from the UK. It was spotless and wrapped in the UK when they drove it across the dirty yard through puddles to the inspection shed I knew I was on a loser. I even had photos and cleaning certificates and I inspected it myself as it went in the container, but when you come across a "jobsworth" your wasting your breath
I was talking to an importer today and they've had to cut a bucket into 4 pieces this week in melbourne for inspection between the plates and its been through 8 times now!
New in clingfilm is definetly the way to go

I wouldnt expect you should have to pay anyone - the dealer should handle everything but shipping to Oz - delivery to a freight terminal is no different then delivery anywhere else, no reason to my mind to pay extra.

I'd find a good ASV dealer, probably near a western port city, and talk to them. People on here should have good advice on who. You should probably buy the implements from them as well for simplicities sake

sure does make the local used harley rake at $6k seem cheap btw!

From what we hear about your recession / slump in sales it would be a good sale - I would be happy to put the business for the accesories through them as well

Has anyone here bought a similar package and had a good deal and would point me in the right direction
