I always hate to read or hear about these things...the poor kid will have to live with this for the rest of his life...Everyone be careful...also watch about falling out of your stands...a good friend of mine lost his son when he feel asleep in his stand and fell to his death.

Yes, a tragedy, no doubt...

There was a similar accidental shooting in PA (North Eastern, IIRC) in which a son (20's something) shot his Dad...earlier this year.

And you're right...the boy will never recover from that...

What an awe-full ending, Sure raise questions in my mind, but in the end the answers wont solve anything. Poor kid.

Sad thing for a youngster to have to live with
incidentally just the other day Thanksgiving day actually, I had a scare, I had promised My 2 granddaughters that I would take them into the woods to hunt a Christmas tree, it was after dinner about 2:00 and would have been good exercise, We had walked holding each others hand about 50yds into the woods of our property and I heard a gun shot... at first I was scared for them and thought how much of an idiot I was having them out in the woods in the first place then of course I rushed them back to the house quickly, I forgot all about the hunting going on, actually I would think that Hunting should be band through the Tree Hunting season,or at least on Thanksgiving day,
Not everyone Buys a tree ya-know, some of us do go out and hunt for a tree the old fashion way, I have no hunting signs on my property but this certainly doesn't stop a bullet from crossing over,
sorry I used this topic for my rant, But maybe some advice will come from it,
Folks please think twice before entering the woods..... the bullets are flying.
