I built a snow plow for my quick attach last year, and currently I only have a manual angle. I cut off the original cylinder mounts when I was building it becasue they were all bent up and in general disrepair. Now I have a grapple and ran lines to the front of my tractor to run the grapple cylinder with my rear remotes.

So I got to thinking I might as well as a cylinder to my plow. The question I have is do I use two single action cylinders (one on each side like the factory setup), or do I use one larger diameter double action cylinder on one side of the plow? I think the DA cylinder will be less expensive and it will be less that I have to fab up.

Any thoughts?

Since your doing it from scratch, you could do either way. Mine has 2 single acting, the stock cylinders that came on the old truck plow.
I think I'd just look for a couple of old plow cylinders and go the conventional route.
Not sure of the pros and cons though, if there even are any?

You can get cheap DA cylinders at Tractor Supply.
Maybe a little more thinking involved to get the right DA setup.

Whatever you do, it will be an improvement over manual angling.

2 pics showing a DA angle plow setup, not mine, this one was damaged somehow, probably due to no relief valve.
1 pic of my set up, uses both DA an SA cylinders

In theory two SA cylinders would probably put less bending stress or your blade since they would be supporting both ends of the blade. Also if a cross over relief is installed it won't function properly with a DA cylinder.
