The govenor on my S650G has started acting up. It periodically decides to limit engine speed to about 2000 rpm. I have the service manual but it doesn't really give any hints as what to do to stop this. I haven't really had a chance to mess with it yet, but thought I'd see if anyone had any insight. Thanks.

I'm not an expert on govenors, but they have weights that fly out when the engine goes faster. If it won't rev as high as it should , it could mean either the springs are weak or the weights are sticking.

Well, took it apart tonight. I'm amazed that it worked at all. Both the front and rear bearings are shot and of course therefore the front seal is also shot. Whoever had it apart last used way too much form-a-gasket and the insides were full of little chunks of it gumming up all the moving parts. That and the front seal was apparently letting dust and moisture in because the oil was real dirty and nasty. So all that being said anyone know where I can either get parts or a functional governer?

Could you PM me the $ for the front and rear bearings and the front seal. Also, I'd be interested in the $ for a used governer. Or if you PM me your phone number, I'll call you Mon. Thanks
