I just picked up a new grapple and need to run lines from the rear remotes and wanted to know if anyone has done this on a Kubota L3240 before?
Did any of you use anything over your hoses for protecting them?
Did you mount the hoses on the same side as your loader hoses or does it matter which side?
The size of the hoses ,I should run to the front should be 3/8 or 1/2?
Any help would be greatly appreciated ,thank you!

I don't have a Kubota, but there are certain things that are the same for anyone using rear remotes to run a grapple. The first is to use 1/4" hoses. They are small and easy to route. Even with 1/4" hoses, you'll probably need a needle valve or restrictor orifice to give you fine control. It just doesn't take much flow to run small grapple cylinders.

Another thing is to break the lines right at your loader posts with quick connect adapters. That way, you can remove the loader easily by disconnecting quick connects.

I did not protect my 1/4" hoses and have noticed no wear whatsoever in over 7 years of use.

Thanks ! I see the grapple hoses are bigger, then goes into a T where it goes into 1/4 lines to each cylinder ,must be for skid steer hook up.

1/4" for sure. Have extra hose so you have enough for the full range of motion when you curl both ways. If you have an air hose, route that where you want it and tape it up and make sure it works then measure the air hose buying the hydraulic hose...

I ran my two 3/8" rear remote connected grapple hoses on the opposite FEL arm because there was really no room to do so on the other FEL plumbed arm. Most importantly, you will need to create a large "S" in your hoses at the FEL docking posts similar to the ones for the FEL itself. I found that on my tractor there was no room to do so alongside the existing FEL "S".
I used hose explosion protection under the tractor, at the "S" curve and from the torque tube to the grapple. I tend to overdo things that I build but seeing that all of the exterior hoses on my Woods BH90-X backhoe are covered, I followed suit on the grapple. The downside of adding hose explosion protection is that is quite pricey.

I picked up 3/8" hoses tonight and will get them on tomorrow .I can't wait to try it out, I've got all kinds of stuff to use it on. I was a little surprised to find out that they don't give them away. I was told by a dealer that I needed two 12' lengths , but that seemed short. I took the advice of some of you and used a air hose to run the route that I was going to run ,and found that I needed 16.5' good thing I took the time to find out for myself. This deal still was over $200.00 bucks after I added in the couplers , but still the cheapest way to do it I guess. I'll let you know how it goes , thanks to all.

Did you mo

I ran the hoses from the rear of my cabbed B3030 under the tractor but crossed over to the left side of the loader as I had more room there. I put protection on the hoses in areas where it might get cut or worn. I only use the remotes (at present time) to angle the snow plow. The last picture by the loader arm is only showing one quick attach coupling as I was waiting for the second one to arrive.

I guess I should have stressed that 1/4" hose is way more cheaper than 3/8"...

I hope you are planning to do the right thing... . . . . . . ...and post some photos!!! :D

Have fun with the new grapple!

By the time you add the extra hose and couplers you can just about add a diverter valve that mounts right on the loader, uses shorter hoses, and only needs an electrical disconnect to remove the loader. I used this valve:
Solenoid Valves 220-934 Detailed Information
To be fair I first had mine plumbed to a rear remote just like you and added the valve after I discovered another need for the remotes.

22degrees out this morning and I crawled under and ran my hoses for my grapple. I have to say it wasn't that bad . I wanted to break the lines right at the loader posts with quick connect adapters , but it would have meant another $50 which I couldn't come up with after the hoses and zip ties I got. I don't take the loader off or haven't yet ,but I think I will go back latter and do it. I followed the "S" in the hoses at the FEL docking posts similar to the ones for the FEL ,than along the loader arm to the front . I also had to change the couplers on the grapple to match.
It killed me to have to leave to go to work not being able to see it work.
5hrs latter back home in the seat ready to go:thumbsup: Went down in the field to try it out. Here's some pic's I hope..of me just trying it out. I didn't have really any brush to pick up so I grabbed what I could. Also tryed a couple of rocks but didn't get pic's of them , at that point I was just finding anything to pick up:thumbsup: Can't wait to start cutting wood to see how that works out . I would think that even cutting firewood up you could just hold onto a log and cut it up off the ground:thumbsup:
What do you think ,now that I know how to put pic's on maybe I should more often.
