Ive got a new to me kubota b7100hst-d serial number shows 90-91 but the seller says it was a 95 model year. Anyway Im pretty sure the hydraulic pump is 1700psi at 3gpm. I really want to run a hydraulic chainsaw and/or pole saw off of the 3ph aux port under my seat. Most newer saws are switchable from OC to CC, but Im not sure what that aux valve is on the tractor. Also most used saws Ive found meet the pressure requirement of my tractor but not the flow. Theyre usually in the 4+gpm range, is 3gpm going to barely work ok? If not, the other option is to add a PTO hydraulic pump that matches perfectly. Id prefer to run that off of my mid PTO where a deck finish mower would take power from. Ive looked around for these, but havent had much luck, does anyone have a source for a 2500rpm pump like this?

Thanks for all the help!

I think the 7100 you might be able to run a front hyd pump. Then everything would be up and out of the way. Take a look at that.

Are you sure on your year? The B7100 was made from about 1978-85 I believe. As for running the chainsaw I would say it might not perform well enough to make you happy at that flow rate. You could run a pump off the mid pto or the front of the crankshaft, just spec out a pump that'll provide the flow you want at the rpm you need. No need to be a "pto" pump if you're not running it off a 540 pto.

The shaft needed to run off the front of the engine can be tough to find from what I've read.

They made the B7100 again in the early 90's. TractorData.com Kubota B71HST tractor information

To the OP, I would think a saw would be too slow using the tractors pump plus if you grenade that pump somehow you may have a hard time finding a replacement. If I needed this setup I think I would run it off the rear PTO and build some sort of 3ph rack that holds the hydraulic fluid plus areas to hang the hose, saw and pump. This way you can have a somewhat sealed system. I'm curious though, why you would do this over a rechargeable electric tool system? I could see trying to stay away from loud gas chainsaws but those new cordless saws are quite good.

Adding a pump, means you will also have to add a hydraulic tank, filter ect…

You can't just add a pump.

Right, that's why I mentioned a rack to hold it all. Seems like a lot just to have a chainsaw but we don't know it's intended purpose.

Yes Im sure, the B7100HST ran until 1995 according to tractordata. You might be researching the standard B7100. Ive been trying to figure out if there were 2 variations of pumps for the B7100HST, rumor has it that the newer models came with an upgraded pump that flowed around 4gpm. That flow rate would be perfect for what I need it for, its just hard to find out what pump I actually have. The manual says its PN 67211-76100, it seems the B7100HST is the biggest tractor it was used on. A few stores says it fits different part numbers, but I cant find any specs on flow rate for the pump itself apart from tractordata. It would be really nice if a larger tractors pump with a higher flowrate would fit my D750 engine.

Adding a pto pump with rack tank etc, would be cost projibitive for my purpose. I just want to be able to run small hydraulic tools off the tractor while having the 3ph free to run a carryall, log splitter, or my forks. Right now I want it specifically for 4+gpm hydraulic polesaw, chainsaw, hedge trimmer. I have trees along the edge of my property that grow into powerlines and phone/data lines so the safety of the hydraulic pruning equipment is ideal. Not to mention avoiding 3 extra engines to maintain.

I have a 40 volt pole saw and it cuts great and I can't last as long as the battery. Btw I have 2 of the shafts that hook to the crankshaft pully. One is the same splines as the 540 pto and the other one something like 13 tooth, not sure on that one. I think you could use the tractor for the supply and return for another pump with a in line filter.

There are no model years on tractors. Maybe it was built in 91 but did not sell off the lot until 95. Hard to believe it would have been there that long but maybe the seller fudged a few years to make it sound newer. It doesn’t matter though, hours, features and condition determine more of the worth of the tractor.
