Yeah i was wonderin about that. Seems to me it would interfere with the movement of the axle tho if ya bolted the guard to it ?? Is your weight bar only supported on the 4 bolts under the front frame ?

2 3/4" bolts at the very back and 2 more that go up underneath the very front.

Maybe you can check out someplace like Valu-Bilt for online catalog pictures of any generic brush guard. The same exact one that fits most older Fords will fit the Massey 135.

Thanks ,i checked those and also on YT. Think i've got my head around it now LOL, it obviously has to be all fastened to the axle or all fastened to the frame. Back to the drawing board !!

Hey Scotty! Here's the weight bar without the brush guard. This picture was about 75% through the initial clean-up when I started on the project. I did a fast (and not very good) paint job on the sheet metal, then went to work on everything else. (Yep, sorta backwards) At this point, I'm about to remove the fuel tank and air filter assembley for clean & paint. Anyway, back to the weight bar. It holds 5 standard series 100 Massey suitcase weights, which it never needs. Bolts on at 4 points, all to the steering bolster. Not a lot of plastic used on this tractor if you know what I mean.

Oh yeah, no pictures of the 2-tone side panels. Switched brands of paint on the flint grey and got a totally different color. Back to AGCO for more o.e.m. paint.

Looking to become an upwardly mobile young urban professional, I HAD to have one of those trendy green and yellow critters to mow my lawn with.

I should have taken a picture of the tractor that's right outside the shop door. You'd like it. 574 IH. It's in good shape other than the engine uses 3 quarts of oil per hour, clutch slips, grill is missing, tires are all mis-matched and worn out, and the seat looks like a goat got ahold of it. It was too cheap to pass up. By the time I'm done, it won't be so cheap anymore. Plan is to sell it after everything is fixed, but who knows, I might look good on an old binder.

Well, all I can hope for is that you didnt pay an exhorbitant amount of MONEY for your grass cutting machine from HOME DEPOT !

I bought that mower from a dealer. He took it in on trade. At that point it was 3 years old. I paid about 1/2 the original purchase price. I've used it 11 years now. 17hp Kawasaki, hydrostat, 48" deck. Bought a set of Gator Blades a couple seasons back. Over-all, a bargain on a very dependable mower. Deere gets a few things right. (Don't tell anyone I said that )

Now that I've got about 5 acres of lawn instead of 3/4, I'm shopping for a finish mower. Found a deal on a Woods 990 demo model. (7-1/2') I cut it last year with the Bush Hog. That did an ok job. Left a trail of clippings though.
