Rubber rollers vs flails

What's the difference? Which one is better for coastal?

I'm assuming mower conditioner's. Flails will be harsher & beat the grass more than rubber.
I've never cut Coastal before, so I guess I really cant help there.

i think the rollers are better on crops that have leaves on them. my disc mower has flails, and is very good on grass hay.

Ah, so you have a twin 4 blade disc mower;

You could call it a horizontal flail, knife but its a single edge mower blade which is used with the other 7 on the twin disc's to cut, carry, and lift the hay up and over the twin discs and let it set down again



The rubber paddle flails are used to top sugar beets a few minutes before
harvesting them.

If you are baling coastal bermuda the disc mower would be better to reduce leaf shatter than a swather with rubber krimper rolls.

i have a 9'2" disc mower with flail conditioners.
