Bought a RTV1100 camo with cab and added a 2" lift and 27" xtp mud lite tires. Got the buggy home and it does not seem to have the spunk it did with the original tires. Was wondering if anyone has had similiar experience?

My issue from the start was it did not have the ground clearance and mechanical protection underneath.....I do alot of woods riding and the little sticks and logs are trouble.....

Suggestions would be great...
Thanks
Jay

Sounds like you bought the wrong machine. If you are looking for speed, sport riding you should have bought something else.May-be a Rhino or Can-Am.The Kubotas are great work machines.

The tires of course changed the gearing and you did loose power. We had ours tracked up and it was the same way. We are now using the Gator 825i which is a nice compromise between the Kubota and a sporty UTV.

You can modify the exhaust and have them adjust the fuel pump for more power. I had my dealer do that to my RTV900 when they put larger tires on it and it helped. It is noticably louder now and puffs black smoke but the power is worth it.

There is also a guy in Lousinia that makes what he calls "stick stoppers". They are a diamond plate shield that bolts over the front boots to protect them from sticks. Mine already was modified when I bought it. Might ask in the ATV section.

Also some claim removing the spark arrester from the tail pipe will boost power.

Here is the guy that makes the stick stoppers, he is an active TBN member.

Thanks...will look it up. Thought I saw something on here about increasing the hydro power. Think that was done and it went the other way; however, do not know how the tires affected it.

Has to go back to the dealer and wanted to make sure we looked at all options.

I was in a similar situation; I have 27" tires and a 2" lift on mine and it was just flat a dog. Besides that, nobody in the family would drive it with the way it launched everyone out the front when you let off the throttle. I installed a coast valve (RTV would have been sold otherwise!) and then shortly afterwards added a turbo along with fuel and transmission adjustments. Not even close to the same machine now. I'm glad I didn't dump it for being such a dog. I can leave black marks on concrete for about 5' taking off in L now and it will hold about 27 mph in H on most any road surface. It's now a very useful, comfortable (only reason I bought it, well, main reason, was the factory cab with A/C) machine that's great for both work and play.

Good luck. It's a PIA and costs a little money, but after you're already into it as much as you are, what's another grand or so to make it a workable machine. As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't own one without the mods I made. Now everyone loves to drive it. 100% difference.
