Hi Followers,
I have a 2015 Kubota RTV X1100 equipped with a D1105 engine, that begins smoking at approximately 1500 rpm loaded or unloaded, and has low power, starts and idles fine. I checked the easy stuff first, intake piping and, exhaust for a restriction, both ok. Kubota tech assist suggested possible problem was a faulty injection pump, and it could be checked by removing it and giving it a shake, if it rattles, its bad. Apparently there's a problem with the ball breaking off on the bottom of the injector plunger that rides in the lifter.
Removed pump, shook it it rattled, ordered a new pump, shook it, it also rattled, sounds just like the old pump. With the pump out, inspected the governor linkage for abnormal wear. nothing obvious, but my question is if I pull back on fork lever should I be able to get the governor coller to slide back and forth on the shaft, and how much pressure should it take. Obviously have never looked at one of these brefore, any suggestion or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
