I made a decision on a RTV500 and am now trying to decide if I should order it with the HDWS tires. There are a lot of mesquites with nasty thorns on one of our properties and punctures are going to happen frequently. I'll use a sealer I've had good luck with but my question is which stock tire option would be more puncture resistant? I'm in Texas so no snow and mud traction isn't a concern. My assumption is the worksite tires but thought I'd ask those with the experience before a shell out a few hundred more bucks.

Worksite tires on my RTV1140 are great. Will get another set when mine need replacing, although at 760 hrs, there is plenty of tread left so it will be a while.

The worksite tires definitely more puncture resistant

From what I've seen the ATV tires provide better traction but will need replacing more often. This is based on the used tire pile my dealer has out back and having the worksite tires myself.

I had better luck with my worksite tires on my RTV 500....they have more contact patches and a slightly better pattern. The exception to that would be if you were in deep powder snow but plowing you should be in relatively clean areas most of the time since you're pushing the snow in front of you. I ran diamond studded chains also which makes the worksite tires even better since they are a "flatter" tire across the width...the chains sit on there much better.

I have been plowing with my RTV1100 for 5 years and have used nothing but ATV tires, they perform perfectly for me in all conditions.

I'm really glad to hear this! Rolled the dice when we bought our -X900 this year, and went with the ATV tires. Haven't had any snow yet to try it out...
