Just curious if anyone has had their RTV bedlined, I am wanting to put a Line-X line but seems a little high on price. I have been qouted $219.
I have the line-x in my F350 and have had great luck with it, but that seems a little steep, I was alos considering having the floor boards and maybe the ROPS done as well.
Any insight anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks

I've gone 3 different routes. First I bought the Kubota drop in liner. It rattled like the dickens and everything slid around in it. Mainly the constant rattle drove me nuts. Next I bought the 'do it yourself' roll on liner that you can get at Wal-Mart or AutoZone. Well, that was a waste of about $50. And, that is about as nice as I can be about that sort of product. For goodness sakes, it's freaking thick paint; nothing more!!!

I then bit the bullet and paid to have that crap removed and I had Rhino Liner professionally put in the bed and in the floor area of the RTV. It's about 3/8" thick. Now, that stuff is the cat's meow! :) What a difference!! I love it and it not only protects, looks good, but also cuts down on quite a bit of noise. I don't know the difference between Line-X and Rhino Liner, maybe someone else may know. Maybe they are basically the same thing - my guess. Anyway, it is durable and stays somewhat soft to the touch. Good luck!

Dargo,
If you dont mind me asking about how much did that run price wise?

For them to remove the crap roll on liner and to spray the floor area (which I like much better than the mat), I think it cost me about $250 or so.

Dargo,
Thanks for the info... I think I will go with the Line-X the first time.

$15 for a 4x8 sheet of 3/8 inch plywood. You cut it to fit. Works for me.

This is my first post so bear with me.

I agree with R walter. Build a liner! Bought a rtv in 2004 and depend on it almost everyday for ranch use. IMHO rtv bed is a weak point and very prone to damage. It also transmits all the engine sounds right at the back of your head. A box liner of 1/2 to 3/4" ply can be built cheaply and seems to cure multiple problems. Mine fits snugly and is topped with leftover synthetic decking (choicedeck). I covered the inside of the tailgate with diamond plate and replaced the cheapie cables with real chain. Now i can chunk oak rounds in it all day and my ears get a break too.

I did the roll your own stuff. It was about $34 on sale for a gallon from the Menards home center. Not 3/8th thick, but applied properly, it has stayed on well and has been resistant to wear. I used the whole gallon and it is about 3/16th thick. IT has had diesel, hydrolic fluid, deer blood, sand, gravel, dirt, wood and who knows what else on it with only one wear spot and one flake off. The wear was from a sharp steel piece rattling under a heavy piece of eqp for about 50 miles, the flake off was from (cough cough ehem) the installer forgetting to sand the lip of the tail gate. Yeah, that was me. Oops!

It did take about 4 hours of sanding and taping and honestly, 2/3rds of the way thru, I felt the 200-250 for a pro job would have been well spent. Which is probably why I missed a spot!

Taking the bed off is no big deal. I have had to do that to fix some bends in it when I crushed my tailgate.

Twice.
