I read on another site where the Curtis Cab for the RTV900 has been discontinued. Is this true? If so, is the new cab from Curtis, or is it a Kubota designed/manufactured accessory? Or has a cab for this model been discontinued all together (RTV1100)

Also, I was browsing and came upon a European RTV site. Quite nice. Has profiles of different users and their machines. Once choosing 'English' from the homepage, choose the third profile from the left on the top (horse breeding). Take a look at that cab. Wonder if we can expect that in the US?

I can't imagine that it is discontinued as there will still be a good market for them on the 900's.

Taking a look at the RTV's overseas, see they have a Streetlegal model ...
From looking at thier site, it is only offered over there ......

That's ok, I do not know a soul down here that would even think about putting one on the road. That's why we have pick-up trucks. We all use the RTV for off-road, farm work, & hunting >>>>>>>>>.

KUBOTA UTILITY VEHICLE - RTV900 -

that cab is identical to the hpx and xuv deluxe cab

That cab does look similar to HPX/XUV deluxe. There is a good chance it is made by Mauser, who makes the HPX/XUV deluxe cab. It's too far away to tell, but there is a glint of what may be a name badge at the top of the windshield by the passenger side glass hinge. That would be in keeping with Mauser's labeling. Note that this cab's doors open forward instead of a suicide door configuration like the Gator's.

That cab looks like there is no ROPS on that machine, or at least not the big pipe one on our machines here.

The Euorpean Union has more stringent ROPS requirements for its off-road vehicles than the U.S. That cab most likely uses a profile tube for its ROPS structure which allows the windshield and doors to recess into the structure better, giving a cleaner appearance and minimizing the bulkiness of the structural members. However, it is more expensive to build that way.

Here is the quote from the site:
KUBOTA UTILITY VEHICLE - RTV900 -
And from this site:
Horse Breeding"We find the RTV900 unbeatable! It can go anywhere without a problem--even in the snow and mud."
Andrea Ramesch and her husband have been running a horse-breeding farm for over ten years. They recently bought a Kubota RTV900 and, as they tell it, their life and work have become a whole lot easier. "With the RTV900 we can save enormous amounts of time," says Andrea. She's referring not only to her normal tasks of carrying water from meadow to meadow, but also accomplishing tasks that used to be handled in less efficient ways. "We can tie up to eight horses to the RTV to transport them to another meadow, and we can also carry water and fodder along. These are things we used to have to do manually." And they also appreciate that the RTV900 can go anywhere from snowy or muddy meadows, to steep hills or even on the street. "My husband says that he wouldn't get rid of the RTV on any account," concludes Andrea.

Could you imagine tying eight horses to an RTV...LOL...either those horses are minis or the calmest horses in the world, or most likely, these owners are the biggest fools in the world. That cab wouldn't last long being dragged along the ground like a faltered conestoga wagon hitched to a team of eight!

The ROPS on the RTV900 EU models is basically just an elongated version of the domestic RTV900 ROPS and that Mauser ROPS is designed/installed around it. The Mauser cab is better than the Curtis Cab but Curtis is/was supposed to come out with a revised cab design...similar to what is seen here: Curtis - Climate Control Golf Car Cab Systems

So, as long as there is still demand out there it will not be discontinued and the RTV1100 will not take away all demand for RTV900 aftermarket cabs.
