Hi everyone. I'm trying to diagnose why I have no power to the glow plugs, lights or horn. When you turn the key on the glow plug lamp illuminates but never goes out until you start the engine. It will start without them on a normal day but I am getting zero volts to the power lead going to the glow plug connector. Also the high beam (blue) lamp is illuminated at the same time. It also goes out once you crank and start the motor. The brake lights work fine as well and the starter and stop solenoid. The cooling Fan seems to work. Nothing obvious is jumping out. No damaged wire harness that I can see. Checked all the fuses and they all are good. I have a maint manual but still having troubles pinpointing this issue. Maybe a safety switch somewhere, ground issue? Just looking for ideas and seeing if anyone else has had an issue like this one. Thanks everyone.

I doubt its a saftey switch. I figure out what circuit it is a throw a new fuse in it just in case its out but looks good. Sorry, I've got not other advice other than if its not a fuse get out a volt meter and start checking for broken wires.

Thanks for that. Ya I will start and the fuse panel and move down the wire I guess. Can't find anything obvious and the diagram I have isn't the easiest thing to understand. Thanks again.

Ok figured out one thing. The oil pressure lamp got put in the high beam slot by previous owner. Found that by the color code on the wire diagram and the fact I never got an oil light during start. The glow plug light was in the wrong spot also. It was switched with the batt light. So now that that is figured out I am down to figuring out why I have no glow plugs. No glow lamp on the instrument panel and no power to the plugs. Can't really tell by the wire diagram if the timer for the stop solenoid is also for the plugs and maybe it's not working? All fuses are good. Can't locate a relay for the plugs so hoping someone can help. Thanks much everyone.

I have a RTV X1100, so a little different than yours. Mine has no timer or anything for the glow plugs. It just has a position on the key switch between "start" and "on" that is momentary for the glow. You just hold it there as long as you need for glow. Hope that helps!

That does help some. I am new to this machine. Do you have a light on the instrument panel that comes on when you are holding the key in that position then? Is it a spring loaded switch so you have to hold it there to get the glow light to come on? Maybe my switch itself is bad then.

Yes there is a light and it only glows while you hold it there.
