RTV 900 glass windshield

Merry Christmas everyone,

I broke the factory glass windshield yesterday and am having sticker shock on the OEM replacement glass. $700.00 plus dollars .

Does anyone have any experience on aftermarket replacement glass for this machine? The Kubota PN is V4216.

Thanks for the link. That windshield is a plastic/plexiglass product. I am looking for a glass shield. I appreciate your help.

Does the broken glass have a rubber gasket all the way around a frame? If so you may be able to go to a glass shop and have them cut for you or even let them install also at a much lower cost.

Yes there is a gasket but with the safety glass there is no pattern to go by. it shattered into thousands of pieces. The glass has a slight arc to it also with 7 holes in it making a template is a challenge.

Curtis makes this cab for this so I am in hopes I can find a wndshield w/o Kubota on the front for less $$$.

$800 is the normal Kubota price 4 years ago for a glass windshield. Anything less than that from Kubota is a bargain.

I was riding through the woods and had it opened up. I rubbed up against a small tree and wasn't paying attention to the window being open. I tried to squeeze around the tree and pow!!! the window shattered into a zillion pieces. My dad mentioned Lexan or plexi but those materials scratch way too easily.

Not only that, the plastic ones are soon so hazy that you can't see through them.

Guess you guys have had more and different experience than me. I've only had 5 years experience with a plexigas windshield I had cut and installed myself on my RTV1140. I think I paid $40 for it and wouldn't go the $70 for the Lexan that was so much more scratch resistant. I currently have no scratches or hazing and my 5 year old, last payment made in November, RTV1140 sits outside most of the time and is driven by my wife, me and my 11 year old twin grandchildren that have always driven it. No, I don't drive mostly in the woods but I do have several trails that we drive on and have to cut the overhanging new growth limbs a couple of times a year when they intrude into the inside with us.
I think the $700/$800 glass is the best option for everyone that has the money and wants the best. :thumbsup:
