RTV 900 Fuel Cap leaking

Bought a 2006 RTV at auction - fuel cap leaks like a sieve - from older threads I see when they were under warranty Kubota replaced the fuel tank. Is there any other known fix other than the purchase of an expensive fuel tank? Replacement of the cap didn't help.

It would make a difference as to the reason yours is leaking, you might want to try a larger seal on the cap.

This was common in the 04, 05, and 06 models...............Some used an additional gasket in the cap, some got replacement of the tank when it was under warranty......MOST though, like myself, got an oil filter wrench.....most often they are called pliers:

Using these allows you to REALLY tighten down the cap an extra turn......it works......I carry them under the seat and even the wife can get them to work without leaks from the tank.......God bless......Dennis

I agree with DennisArrow's idea. My solution for this problem, which also works, is to use a strap wrench (cheaper) or a chain wrench (more expensive) available from a good hardware or auto parts store.

My solution, is not to fill the tank all the way! 4" from the top and it does not leak but a few drips , even when running x-slope, because we are lucky, the leak is not bad.
