Has any installed the BX bar type tires and wheels on a 1100 yet?

If so was a lift kit required?

Thanks in advance

Guy down the road has the BX R4 tires on his RTV1100 without a lift, IIRC the tire cleats rubbed on the mud flap mount at full turn,. He just took a hammer and a sawzall to the mounts.

I have a set to install on my camo rtv1100. I just hadn't got around to doing it yet. I was going to install them before I painted the wheels from orange to the gray to make sure the fit wasn't a problem. My family owns a Kubota and Massey Ferguson dealer ship in southwest Virginia so it wasn't that big of a deal if it didn't work. They could had ordered a bx24 in without tires and used them, but I am glad they will work. I hope the little bit of ground clearance and width will allow it to go better in the mud and woods. I have the bar type to put on. I will post Pictures once I give it a try.

Say, speaking of these bigger wheels/tires. do they have a lift kit of some kind for the 1100? I would like to lift mine maybe 2 inches and put larger wheels on it as well. Actually, I'd like to turbo it and turn up the fuel pump to. Need someone that can do the work. I'm having some problems with not carrying enough speed or any speed for that matter up steep hills and slowly coming to a stop or slowly spinning out. Thanks for any help or comments.

I contacted a seller on ebay selling lift kits for the rtv900 and he said his would work on the 1100. I haven't purchased them yet. I was going to wait and see if I have any rubbing issues before I spent any more money on them. I hope to get the tires installed this weekend. Then I will post pictures back.

I haven't had any issues with power. I am able to pull hills in M gear that would require L on my old 900. How many hours do you have on yours? Maybe your fuel has water in it and the filter needs changing? Also are you trying to pull the hill at full throtle? I find it better to back it off a little bit and the second hyrostat pumps kicks in and boost the pulling power.

Also could it be your adjustment is out on your throtle? You can adjust the cables so that the engine rpms will be higher at lower speeds which will give you more power. Unfortunately doing this will lower your top speed.

Thanks for the comments. I ordered a lift kit and tires as well. We will see how that goes. My 1100 has about 50 hours on it. I did everything possible to get up this hill although it was very steep I eventually just spun out. Dug little tire holes all over the road which was irritating. It was a bit disappointing. I've easily made it up that hill in my Ford 250. It is almost as if I need to adjust the hydrostatic transmission somehow. I will confirm my Turbo order on Thursday from SWAG Inc. I spoke to a very decent guy over there that was quite informative. I think that痴 my next bet. A little expensive but there are so many things that I like about the 1100 besides that issue, I think once that's solved, I'll have what I want. Oh, I think the right tires will help as well. Thanks again for the comments.

Something else I am going to do, but haven't gotten to yet...

But on my rtv900 I had the atv style factory tires on it, and I had the tires filled with fluid like we do on farm tractors. This helped quite a bit also with traction because of the weight and it also kept in on the ground better so it didn't bounce as much when in the field.

I think the total gallons used was around 25 or 30 which added around 200 lbs which is close to the ground for weight added stability and traction.

I am considering purchasing a turbo kit for my RTV1100. How much is the kit from SWAG? Do you know how much it ups the power? Do they give instructions on how to turn up the pump along with adding the turbo?

a turbo would cost a small fortune. Is the added power really worth that much to you?

The Tim Taylor factor would definitely be boosted though!!
