I would feel better spending the kings ransom on a machine that had a front pto drive system that could be used with a lawn mower. Can you imagine cutting the grass in air conditioned comfort surrounded by surround sound and a cup holder ? I just can't convince myself its worth 20k to drive around my woods and property with a box big enough for a chainsaw and associated tools. They do offer a snow plow but I have that covered seven other ways. If I could eliminate the sub compact tractor loader and mower it would make more sense.

Can't answer that, but you sure are right...A front mount mower would be outstanding.

they call that a bobcat toolcat --

-- and it has 59hp and costs $40k -- with a front PTO --

-- the 1100 is underpowered *at best* and would need a lot more $$$ in it to get the front PTO and bigger diesel --

-- i'm just sayin' --

The 1100 is expensive enough. I'm not sure that it's so much under powered at the flywheel. The tranny doesn't move what it has efficiently...My opinion anyway. In low range, i cacn climb a pine tree. In medium, I can go up most of the steep trails around here with no problems.

40k and they don't throw in the mower ? Sorry but I don't even have friends that are that rich. The 1100 has 24 diesel hp. My JD 4110 has 20 and it pulls four wheel drive and a 60 mmm adequately. I don't believe the transmission on the kubota takes that much power by itself. The only problem is a system to drive the mower. PTO would be the best choice with an electric clutch.
Don't worry... after I buy one they will come out with it only it will not be a retrofit application.
Toolcat is a nice machine but how do you explain to the financial officer you need 44k to cut the grass?

I'm sure this isnt the answer, but just throwing it out there anyways. Use the hydraulic system of the rtv to power a hydraulic motor to run the belt. In fact, kubota offers a kit to do just that, run a hydraulic motor. Thats why that little black knob ,that runs the throttle, has a little detent in it. If you installed that, then you could still use your valve to raise and lower the deck. have the whole thing plug into your front reciever hitch. If someone made something like that work, i'd buy one. It will all depends how many gpm of oil the pump can supply, the more the better.

Yeah..The CFO would have a probblem with that. She let me get away with 19k to cut the grass and 20K to plow the driveway...not gonna push my luck.:D

You could make a mower work with an external motor and use an electric lift ram like a DR Power Grader uses...wire it up to a winch switch up on the dash and you'd have a mower... Using a lawn tractor would be much easier though.

So........... who do we contact at Kubota to get this handled ? It seems like the right choice, sure would increase sales, and make a couple of us estatic. Isn't this why they employ engineers and have R&D centers ?
