Anyone know what kubota enamel is used on the RTV 1100 grill guard and rear frame member that the tow hitch is welded to? They have high gloss and semi gloss listed on thier web site.

Happy New Year All....

On my 900, the front grill is a matte silver grey
and the frame, big frame bar that the " hitch " is welded to , is a Kubota
high gloss ROPS grey . I know some front grills are a dark color ~~

A high gloss will clean so much better !!!!

Let make this statement, if you purchase the Kubota spray cans, be sure to shake them really well, don't know who made the paint for Kubota, it is a good paint, but, never in my life, had I had to " shake " so much to get one to spray proper. Even my dealer warned me, when I purchased it from him !!!
Need to test spray on something else, until the spray starts leveling out ....
Somewhere else, I read where they purchased I think was the John Deere paint, and it acted the same way.... It take much work to make acrylic paint to spray right !!!

it's not just bota paint it's deere paint to they don't just put any old paint in thier cans this stuff is the real deal.yea you have to shake it and it comes out sorta crappy on the first coat the second coat is where it starts lookin good.they are proud of it too 8 bucks a can i use it for touch-ups got a can of deere yellow and deere green. as for as the black goes i just to to wal-mart and get rust-oleum because the way i drag my undercarage on the mud it just sands it right off so why put the good stuff.

Non gloss or gloss would be a personal choice, if you are doing a lot of hunting with it you would probably want the non gloss. Anything that reflects and animal can see a long ways off. If you are traveling with it those bumps and movement show up real easy to and eye.

Not to change the subject but the grill guard on my 3 month old 1100 is already rusting around the welds. I'm thinking about taking it off and having it powder coated in the spring. Anyone try this? (rant on) For the money you spend on these you'd think they could do a decent paint job. A Yogo Is cheeper and has better paint! I've got the same ***** about my trailer though. (rant off) Happy New Year. Bob

it was probably from holidays in the paint.i would have taken it back and had them repaint it if it's only 3 months old and rusting already unless you ran it through some tall grass or weeds that would strip a piant job off quik. when i said holidays in the paint job thats what we would call the lightly covered spots in a paint job when i was painting.

3 months but only 4 hours, been working a lot and the plow only came in a few weeks ago. The pain is just thin. My dealer is great but taking it back I'm sure will only result in a kid with a spray can paint job. I'm looking for something better than stock so I don't have to worry about light brush rubbing the paint off.

well i wouldn't go with a powder coat if your gonna run in the brush it will take it off .your best bet is to remove it yourself and repaint it yourself then. but being 3 months old i would take it back and let them do it.is there a sandblasting yard near you? if so take it to them and get them to blast it then zinc-coat it or i might mis spell it but get them to dee-met-coat it that stuff is like zinc but it's greenish in color but will last for years it's a primer you'll have to go over it with your new paint but you mon't have any rust for sure.you can get little cans of the zinc primer at walmart in the auto motive department around the bondo and stuff if you decide to do it your self .

My HPX gets run through brush and has sticks hitting it all the time (that's why I get all the guards JD offers) and I still don't have any rusting. I would be quite mad if I only had 4 hours and it started to rust on me.

I would think power coating would hold up pretty well though. I have some bracing under my car and obviously it's going to get hit a lot. It's powder coated and last I checked it didn't have any paint missing. I'll check again in the spring and see how it looks though.

I agree with darkday. Powder coating is the way to go.
It's baked on and very resistant to scratches peeling uv rays and rust.

Powder coating is expensive but well worth it if you desire a tough finish.
