any one seen or have info on the attached Roto-Hoe Revac Chipper Shredder? I am trying to find a manual for it or any information at all.
It has an 11HP Briggs and Stratton engine.
The Chipper knives in front are fixed to the large flywheel and the hopper chute in back feeds into a hammermill type shredder.
It runs great, shreds nice, and chips ok with newer or green clippings.
It isn't doing very well on larger dry branches. Is it normal for Chipper Shredders to do better on green/fresh trimming rather than old dry stuff?
The fixed chipping blades seem pretty descent yet but a friend says to take them off and sharpen them anyway and it will make a world of difference.
I understand Roto-Hoe went out of business in the late 70's but I've seen some newer stuff with the Roto-Hoe name on it and my personal opinion is this is quite a bit newer than the 70's. I saw on one site it looked like there was a Roto-Hoe product line in the early 90's...that vintage makes more sense to me.
for what its worth, I know this machine came with a suction hose kit that connected to the back in lieu of the hopper for sucking up piles. The machine also has some kind of swing out tongue and front axle that almost looks like it could be converted to a lawn sweep or something you'ld drive over windrows of leaves to suck up.
I've truly spent hours trying to find more info......Any and all input on this machine is greatly appreciated.
thank you!
Jerry
