- Getting old. Sold the ranch. Sold the tractors. Moved back to the city.
I've reached the 50-hour service point and changed the oil in my B7510HST which I've had since last June.
Filled up with Rotella 15W40 oil rated for diesel use. Couldn't find any diesel-rated 10W30 or 10W40 oil that's recommended in the Kubota user's manual. TSC, NAPA, WallyWorld all sell the Rotella 15W40 here in the North Valley.
I checked several threads in the TBN forums and apparantly it's OK to use the Rotella 15W40.
Just for kicks, I ran the tractor around my place after the oil change but before changing the SUDT hydro/tranny fluid to see if I could notice any difference. I may be hallucinating, but I'll swear that the engine sounds smoother and quieter and the tractor seems to have more pep. Don't know what oil Kubota uses in the factory, but I think I'll be using Rotella from now on.
Anybody else have a similar experience?
