Just thought I would throw this in.
I'm driving a Ford 1700. It's got a ton of hours on it (over 5K now).
This year I used exclusively B50 to B99 biodiesel fuel all summer. Mostly mowing lawn. Ran it about 150 hours this year.
Changed the oil twice over the summer, and just did it again today. Using Rotella 15W-40.
Running biodiesel worked out fine. Actually seems to run best on B50 or so, ease of starting, and keeps the oil reasonably clean.
B99 is a little hard starting in cooler weather. Had to turn it over two or three times in sub 40 degree weather for it to catch. But now that I've diluted it down with some petroleum based diesel fuel, to mix it to B50, it starts just as easy as normal.
Just though I would throw that out- B50 and Rotella 15W-40 seems to be a fine combination for me.
