ROPS

Could anyone tell me the height of the BX2200 ROPS from the ground to the absolute top?? I couldn't seem to find it on their web site. Also do they make a foldable version? I notice that they are bolted into the fender, is there any way they could be removed without disrupting anything else?? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kyle

I don't have a BX. But the foldable ROPS adds 6" to a B2910.

70.9 inches and to the best of my knowledge, I do not know if Kubota has the option of a foldable ROP for the BX1800/2200. Removal would be at your own risk. Four bolts either side and it would be off! I recall seeing a picture from another member of TBN with the ROP removed from a BX.

Yes, you can remove the ROP's but why?! That is like riding a motorcycle without a helmet. The ROP's may be one of those lawyer induced accesories but in this case it is a good thing. The BX, like other small tractors and unlike most GT's and lawnmowing tractor styled lawnmowers, does have the power and traction to standup on you and will if improperly handled. Also, despite it's lower center of gravity and excellent stability a roll over is going to put 1300 lbs of tractor plus hundreds of pounds of the attached implements/FEL smashing down on top of you. In the case of a throw away "tractor" from Walmart which may weigh 400 or so pounds may not need a ROP's but I think the BX does and it would be in your best interest to figure a way to get your situation "adjusted" so you could leave the ROP in place. I have the brochure (spelling??) in from of me and it states 70.9" with ROPS.

It may not seem like it, but I really do understand the importance in ROPS. In my case I am sure the 70.9inch clearance would be enough. But if I did have to take it off, my property is very flat, and it would just be for mowing. If I get the loader or any attachements I would be certain to re-install it for use. You CAN take the ROPS off if you wanted. Just remember when you get squished you won't be able to sue anyone. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif It'll come off with 4 nuts on either side, and you'll have to put a plate over the studs and secure it down, cuz it helps support the fenders. The other thing you'd have to do is figure out another way to attach the lights, since they mount to welded-on brackets on the ROPS.
