Yes, you can remove the ROP's but why?! That is like riding a motorcycle without a helmet. The ROP's may be one of those lawyer induced accesories but in this case it is a good thing. The BX, like other small tractors and unlike most GT's and lawnmowing tractor styled lawnmowers, does have the power and traction to standup on you and will if improperly handled. Also, despite it's lower center of gravity and excellent stability a roll over is going to put 1300 lbs of tractor plus hundreds of pounds of the attached implements/FEL smashing down on top of you. In the case of a throw away "tractor" from Walmart which may weigh 400 or so pounds may not need a ROP's but I think the BX does and it would be in your best interest to figure a way to get your situation "adjusted" so you could leave the ROP in place.
