Hi folks,
I'm working on my 401 that followed me home. The injection pump stopped injecting, so I started digging into it and found an extremely dirty fuel system and extremely dirty pump. I have the JDB4 all tore apart, and I think it's salvageable, but I ran into a problem, and I'm looking for help. I'm cleaning up the pump head, and I took out the 3 little screws / passage plugs and a small rod fell out. I wasn't watching for it, and it just came out when I was playing with the pump. I will try to attach a pic where I have labeled the 3 holes A B and C. My hope is that someone might know which screw that little rod goes with. It fits in either A or B (c is too small). The rod is toward the top of the pic. It's a little blurry but it's not much to see. It looks like a finish nail that's about 1 1/4" long. If anyone knows where it goes, I'd appreciate knowing. Furthermore, I'd extra appreciate telling me what the heck a little rod is doing in there in the first place. Thanks a bunch!
