Roller attachment for 3PH?

Does anyone make a roller attachment for tractors? Everything I have seen are either smaller ones for lawn tractors or skid steer attachments. Was entertaining the idea of getting a 4 or 5 foot one for compacting my road after I grade it.

Kodiak/paladin mfg makes them or did. 3 point and draw bar. It's my understanding that Paladin bought Kodiak out,they also make implements for Mahindra.

I simply Googled "ballast roller" (+ "Australia" ) and then had a look at what was on offer.

I eventually settled on a 3ph Cat 1 roller with aerating spikes. Yes, it was made in China and I had to do some modifications such as re-mounting the frame below the roller axle pins and a top-link extender. Oh, and a bit of 'steel putty' to fix a leaky weld around the fill-cap. But for something I only use a few day a year and for limited acreage, it was a bargain.

Depending on the size of your mule you may want to consider investing in a towed cultipacker to keep the roadbed in line and compacted. It works very well after a rain just like a sheeps foot roller.

If you can find a used single wing cultipacker or take a used double winged one and simply take one side off the wing can remain folded over the center section and the added weight will pack the dirt and stones down very well.

But If you have a row crop mule there is no need to remove a wing as the mule will be able to tow it with no issues.

It would be less work if you rented a small vibrating double drum roller for a day as it would work even better.

If you do not have good drainage meaning a crown in the center of the driveway to allow drainage a small vibrating roller is the best way to do this.

Just looked that implement up. It appears using that on the road would leave the road grooved and not smooth/flat

I should've mentioned that the aerator 'bands' on my ballast-roller <above, post #5> are removable.

Depends on what cultipacker you use. I use a "crow foot" cultipacker on mine, and it works perfectly...

I just finished a roller for my field work this week. Will be trying it out today and will post pics, if it works I will clean it up and paint it.

This roller is segmented sections of 18" pipe with concrete filled centers. Made it with two rows to work with a quick hitch and it is 6 1/2 ft wide. Weight is about 2600+ lbs. This is a low cost roller with materials costing about $300 to $350.

Welding on this project has been an almost impossible task for me as I have been dealing with cataracts. Striking an arc and I can't see anything. Hoping to get the surgery on my eyes completed before another welding project is undertaken. Will definitely have to clean up the welding this winter before calling it complete.

Here are some pictures from the job today. This property was in the path of a wild fire a few years ago and last week I removed 52 stumps that were left. The property owner wanted to save the existing wild grasses. The plan was to remove as much of the surface rock without tilling or disking up the grass roots. I removed the surface rock as best I could and today I planted annual rye, raked lightly and rolled with the new roller.

The roller worked well enough but a little more moisture would have been better.
