Rockshaft Lever Lifts Loader

I am working on a JD 67 loader that痴 on a 750 tractor. I couldn稚get any response on the lift so I replaced the hydraulic oil and cleaned the screen. Still no lift when I just pull the lift lever on the control valve. However, if I pull on the lift lever while simultaneously pulling slightly on the rockshaft (rear hydraulics) lever, the loader lifts right up. But without slight pressure on the rear hydraulics the loader won稚 lift at all. Any ideas why this is happening? Could it be air in the lines? Something else? Any suggested fixes? Thanks!

If all you did was change hydraulic oil and clean the screen - then as you suggest - air in the lines. Simple and easy fix - - just work it out.

There is a pipe plug the had to be used to give you power beyond. It's been way to long ago for me to remember where it went. Just bring it up so maybe someone else can remember.

Leejohn....thanks very much for the tip. The pipe plug was the answer.

Now I have the loader running but have a new question...I tried moving some mulch with the loader but when the bucket meeets the slightest of resistance going forward into the pile, the bucket rolls forward and dumps the load. Basically the resistance pulls the tilt cylinder forward and it won’t hold its position. Is this likely a bad cylinder problem and should I have the cylinder rebuilt or replaced?

If you can raise the tractor up with the loader and the bucket stay put. Then it's the cyls. With bad cyl piston seals the rod well move out BUT NOT in. Run cyls all the way out then remove the rod end hose then try to dump more with hyd pressure. There should be on oil coming out of the cyl. You might have to plug the hose you unhooked, if you have regen loader valve.
